My Pledge - 'NO' to Corruption Print E-mail
Although corruption is often seen as a social malaise, it is at root a collection of personal choices, each of which contributes to the problem. This means that as individuals, we can make choices not to participate in the system, and expect these individual choices to have an impact on the whole as well. The zero-rupee note recgonizes this connection, and by using it as suggested here, each of us can take a definite step in the right direction.

How to use the zero-rupee note to make your pledge.

1) Download theimage by right-clicking on this link below.

2) Fill out the blank portion of the note using words that best describe your pledge to yourself. Here is an example. I affirm that I will examine my behavior for choices that may be contributing to corruption at personal and social levels. I will refrain from initiating corrupt behavior, and wherever possible, will seek alternatives to corrupt practices when such behavior is initiated by others. I will respect the equality of all persons, and the dignity of others' lives, and treat them with due respect and regard.

3) Most importantly, display it in a place where you will be reminded of this promise to yourself. You may display this more noticeably as well, but the essence of this pledge is that we each bind ourselves to a standard voluntarily.

4)  If you would like to share your pledge, please consider emailing the words to us, and letting us know that you completed this process. This allows us to learn from your experiences, and to adapt the ECAAL campaign. Our email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
