Summary

The project aims to facilitate NREGA implementation in Orissa where AID India has already been working and in Srikakulam, AP where the work in this regard is going to begin.

Goals

To continue the awareness programme, audit of works done and follow up with application forms that people file to ensure they get jobs or unemployment benefit.

Work with the panchayats to help with the gram Sabhas in planning projects that can be taken up in the villages in different panchayats.

Innovative ideas to go forward if cooperation from the government is lacking.

Achievements

AID India work in Orissa has been successful in creating awareness amongst people about NREGA. The use of street plays to spread the message has been particularly successful - the audit done has brought out the various problems in the implementation of NREGA
