 It was encouraging to see the recent trend of penalties being imposed on
 erring officials. Kudos to you!

 In the past even though the information comission had come down very
 strongly on some cases it was dis-heartening to see the officials being
 let go at the last minute. I totally understand your situation but having done
 all the hard work with those cases it was really sad to see penalties not
 being imposed even on repeat offenders like Mr. S.P.Padhy. It had the
 potential to totally debilitate the act and hence all the more
 heart-warming to see the recent decisions. It was also interesting to see more officials
 working with NGO's to educate themselves on RTI and it is something that
 must be encouraged.

 I also hope that the Information Commission follows up and make sure that
 you get a compliance report that the penalty is indeed deducted in all
 these cases.
